Chai Thai Noodles is some of the best Thai in the east bay. Their spot on International never disappoints and the new location is every bit as good but with a major atmosphere upgrade.
The decor and vibe is very chill and still feels authentic.
The food is legit and not overly sweet or processed. It's fresh and quality. Get the soups and noodles.
High quality Thai.
Highly recommend the curries! Also try the Albariño white wine to pair. The service was perfect, we felt very taken care of. The atmosphere is cool, clean, and comfortable. Perfect for date night. SO happy this just opened in Berkley :).
Debating what to eat the other night, me and the gf scoured through Yelp's recommendation and came across Chai Thai Noodles. We originally thought this would be located in dt Berkeley, and was quite surprised when all of a sudden, the gps announced that we had arrived. Located at the bottom of some newly built condos, this little place is quite unassuming from the outside.
The inside décor is very warm and inviting, and the service was very friendly. When we arrived around 6pm, this place was still pretty empty, with only two other tables being occupied. However as we progressed into our meal and looked around, we noticed that the entire establishment actually filled up pretty quickly and had a line going out the door. My gf actually wondered why she had never noticed this place before as she drives by it daily, but we overheard the waiter mention to another table that they had just opened 2 weeks ago.
For our meal, we ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad Pak Ruam. While the Pad Pak Ruam, a stir-fried mixed vegetables dish with broccoli, carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, mushroom, and spinach was ok, the real star of the night was the amazingly delicious pineapple fried rice! It was perfectly seasoned, with the rice at the perfect texture (not soft and mushy), and mixed with some eggs, raisins, cashew nuts, onions, and carrots.
They have some type of Thai candy at the counter which was pretty good. And free (albeit limited) parking is available street level.
Beautiful decor, great food, chill vibe. New location in Berkeley (at Ashby & San Pablo - don't let Google Maps lead you astray to some cul de sac off Folger/Carrison). Same menu of favorites - pork leg stew, papaya salad, curries and some new items! The pork neck appetizer is delicious.
We went on the opening day of the restaurant. It was very neatly maintained and the staff was very polite. Loved the decor. And the food was amazing! I ordered Tom Kha because I sick and it certainly felt good. We had a great experience at the restaurant and definitely go back.
Great ambiance (lighting, music, decor). Incredible dishes as well! We had the pineapple fried rice and pad se-ew, both were flavorful and affordable. And for dessert sweet sticky rice with mango
Finally! I can get Lao food that isn't all the way across town. Super nice place and even nicer service. I ordered Lao sausage and Nam Kao Tod... delicious. Every time I miss my moms cooking I'll eat at Chai Thai. Looking forward to eating here again and bringing friends!
Some of the best Thai I've had! Super friendly staff and really nice interiors. We went for dinner on their grand opening and it was such smooth service. A great addition to our neighborhood
Incredibly amazing food. Here on opening day for dinner, and the place was buzzing with folks. Staff very attentive, food was delicious, and atmosphere was perfect. Chai Thai Noodles will definitely be in the rotation of regular restaurants I frequent.
I live around the corner and decided to check out the new restaurant. I have not been to the other locations before. I thought the service was very friendly! I decided to be adventurous and try the Chiang Mai noodles and the fried chicken larb. Both were very fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back!
